Frederick Lacy Keith, 82, of Houston, Texas, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 5, 2016. He was born on June 28, 1934 in Middletown, Ohio to Lacy and Lora Dell (Prater) Keith. He grew up living with his brothers and cousins on the farm, working the farm and always getting into mischief. Freddie married his childhood sweetheart Ramona Jewel Webb on May 22, 1952 at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, Alabama. Frederick served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge, he worked as a lineman for Southern Bell for 21 years and then in maintenance for the Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, Texas for over 20 years as well. Fred loved his family fiercely. He loved children and loved teasing everyone he met. He was cowboy and never stopped loving horses. Frederick was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Ramona Jewel Keith; sister, Mary Kathryn Gemmer; brothers, Gilbert Marvin Keith, Delmar E. Keith, Elmer D. Keith, and Edward Sanders Keith; and son-in-law, Edward Patrick Southern. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Ann Southern of Gainesville, Florida and Heather (Micah) Shanks of Houston, Texas; son, Randy Lewis Keith and his family; grandchildren, Stephanie Ann (Terry) Persampieri, Lora Jane Shanks, Joshua Wen Shanks, Jacob AiHao Shanks, Scott Lewis Shanks and Mae AnXin Shanks; great-granddaughter, Lacey Ann Southern; and brothers, Harry Eugene (Jean) Keith and John Raymond (Millie) Keith. A Celebration of Life for Frederick will take place on November 13, 2016 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Northeast Houston Baptist Church, 18000 West Lake Houston Parkway, Humble, Texas 77346. Graveside Services will be on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00am at the Miltonville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
